Bobby Jo's 50's Diner Gallery

Stumbled upon this during a trip with friends to Southend. Being an american and living in the UK I was excited to find a place that served real old fashion american style food in a fun and interesting atmosphere and to top it off the service was A1 as was the food. Awesome place I would highly recommend to everyone March 30 2013

Me and my boyfriend eat at bobby jo's quite often and are never disappointed. Easily one of my favourite places!

Me and my partner Karen ate at the restaurant for the second time last night (24/02/13) and as per the first time, the whole experience was excellent. The food is superb, and the choice is brilliant. The staff are so polite and the service puts other restaurants to shame. The staff here will take the time to talk to you and you are never rushed. The restaurant had a problem with the card payment machine last night, no fault of the restaurant at all, our waiter (who turned out to be the owners son) explained the problem, couldnt apologise enough and refunded the cost of using the cash machine in the shop next door. Thats a bit of old fashioned service that you just dont see anymore...Mind you, once through the doors of this place it is 1955 again!!

popped in here for icecream and drinks as had already eaten else where so wished id noticed this [lcae earlier it was fab ice creams and puddings were amazing and the setting ov the fifties music to my ears if only we had a place like this closer to home if i ever visit southend again i will defo returm i visited 20/8/2012

Came here for my daughters birthday the food was fantastic it was great to try the milkshakes which were very tasty. The staff were friendly and it felt like we had stepped back in time. Can't wait for my next visit.

We came to Southend for the weekend and could not help but be drawn into Bobby Jos! What a fab place. We only had room for drinks today, but wished we could have managed a meal as the food looked great. Brilliant atmosphere and great staff. Have already been telling friends and family that they need to head to Southend to pay you a visit. We will definitely looking for an excuse to head over from Kent again soon to pay you a visit xx

popped in a week ago the food was damn good, the atmosphere swinging and friendly and the key lime pie was devine! was a delight and quite refreshing to stumble upon a place where you can see a hell of a lot of passion and creativity going on, so much so I was inspired to set my hair the following week. Looking forward to visiting again. Thankyou

We hired the car, and it was a very smooth ride, we had breakfast in the diner which is always a delight and we were driven home in style. We were treated like V.I.P's and Rose (mother in law) was treated like a princess. thank you ever so much guys. look forward to coming again soon.

Thanks for making our dining experience so special :-) Food superb, didn't have to wait too long for a table or our food :-). Ice cream very much to order too. Will definately return to this eatery.

I dont normally write a review but I just wanted to say waht a lovely meal we had for our son's 9th birthday,theplace is bright and the food is really good.the staff are a reminder of how you should be served , friendly, welcoming and happy.Keep up the good work .

I'm 12 and my family came here about 2-3 months ago and I ABSOLUTLEY LOVED IT! My family will be coming back in the summer.
I had the chocolate milkshake and it was bigger than i expeced andit was fantastic next time i will be having a bubblegum milkshake.

Paid a visit on Sunday 12 June 2011. Excellent service , Excellent food , Excellent music. Overall rating................... EXCELLENT

My patrtner, son & I visited on Saturday 4th June. I was drawn to the colour scheme initially. I was breathtaken when we went in, I fell in love with the place, interesting, factual, fun and friendly. I wish I could own one like this .. I am going to redecorate my kitchen in these colours. I wish I lived nearer, I would be in there all the time. Fab place and I will visit each time I go to Southend. Thank you :o) xxx

Visited yesterday and had a brilliant time! Loved the food, the atmosphere and especially the milkshakes! The decor was great and loved the uniforms much more authentic than other diners I have previously visited. Will definitely be returning!

Came down from Harwich on the 15th of August. Spotted ypur Diner from the car park, and glad we did.
Excellent atmosphere, very relaxed and welcoming.
Great hosts, great food.
